For a flea infestation to be resolved the species must be identified. By identifying the species, you can determine the habit and habitat of the flea. Regardless of what some pest control companies say they are not exactly alike and to build a successful program you must know the flea. Some pest control companies can tell but if pets are involved you may want to seek the advice of a veterinarian.
A flea’s life cycle from egg to adult can be 12 to 190 days but on average 12 to 28 days. They can come from multiple places. Untreated neighbor’s pets, wild life passing through your yard or maybe a yard you walked through that was infested. Whatever the case may be if infestation has already taken hold a program in involving outside, inside and pet probably needs to take place.
Typically, you cannot get rid of fleas in one treatment. You may knock them down with one treatment but several is more likely needed to completely get rid of them. If you’re not sure how the infestation come about in the first place you may even want to get on a monthly yard treatment program to help prevent re-infestation.
Normally a treatment inside and outside requires you to leave for 2 or more hours. That would be a great time to get your pets treated. When you return washing bedding and a thoroughly vacuuming will help remove dead fleas and eggs. At least one follow-up treatment is advised but up to the client.
The cost depends on the size of the house and property and infestation. At Hero Pest control we give free inspections, consultations and estimates.
